Malin Akerman Cast In Showtime’s ‘Billions’ As Damian Lewis’ Wife

Akerman (“Trophy Wife”) joins Damian Lewis (“Homeland”) and Paul Giamatti in the drama, set in the world of high finance. She’ll play Lara Axelrod, a former nurse from humble beginnings who’s now married to billionaire Bobby Axelrod (Lewis).

Previously announced, Lewis will play the hedge fund titan Axelrod, who clashes with “whip-smart” U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades (Giamatti ). Maggie Siff, Toby Leonard Moore, Condola Rashad and David Costabile round out the cast.

“Billions,” currently shooting in New York, is written and exec produced by Brian Koppelman, David Levien and Andrew Ross Sorkin. The pilot is directed by Neil Burger (“The Illusionist,” “Divergent”).
