'I keep you because you're a serpent,' Henry warns Cromwell as his servant starts to get too big for his boots. Henry's in a foul mood  in this episode because Anne Boleyn has given him another daughter; not the son and heir he craves.
 Among Anne's many enemies is the scheming Lady Rochford (Jessica Raine, also to be seen in chilling drama Fortitude on Sky Atlantic, Thursdays), who relentlessly tries totease Jane Seymour. 'It's like baiting a field mouse,' she complains as Jane refuses to bite. 

Meanwhile, despite Cromwell's best efforts, Sir Thomas More refuses to accept the new queen, sealing his fate with the executioner. A powerful episode filled with some wonderfully coarse one-liners.
